Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, political adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially resigned from his position. Reports indicate that the former spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) submitted his resignation roughly two weeks ago. According to presidential sources, Dr. Baba-Ahmed did not elaborate on his reasons, citing only personal grounds for his decision.
Appointed in September 2023 as Special Adviser on Political Matters in the Office of Vice President Kashim Shettima, Baba-Ahmed has actively represented the presidency at various events over the last 17 months. His most recent public engagement was at a national conference in Abuja held from January 28 to 29, 2025, focused on strengthening democracy and promoting good governance in Nigeria.
