Former Vice President Kamala Harris had a pointed “I told you so” moment during a speech in California on Thursday. Speaking at the Leading Women Defined Summit in Dana Point, Harris criticized the silence and inaction of individuals and organizations in the face of what she called “clearly unconstitutional threats.” Though she initially joked, “I’m not here to say I told you so,” she laughed with the audience and added, “I swear, I wasn’t going to say that.”
The remarks marked her first public acknowledgment of vindication following her loss in the 2024 presidential election. Several of Trump’s policies are now facing legal challenges, and global markets have been rattled by his tariffs. According to a new book, Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House, Harris was blindsided by her election defeat, having believed she was on track to win. The book also reveals frustration with former President Obama over his lack of endorsement.
Harris reemerged into the public eye in February with a major speech at the NAACP Image Awards, where she subtly criticized both Trump and Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk.
