Cassie will testify under her real name during Diddy’s upcoming criminal trial, according to reports.
In a motion filed on April 4th, prosecutors confirmed her decision and noted that other victims in the case—referred to as Victim-2, Victim-3, and Victim-4—have requested that their identities remain confidential, opting to use pseudonyms during the trial. Prosecutors argued that due to the extensive media coverage the case has already received, revealing the victims’ names would lead to unnecessary exposure, harassment, and potential harm. Diddy’s legal team has opposed the anonymity, claiming it is unfair to the defense.
Cassie previously sued Diddy for alleged sexual abuse in 2023, and the two reached a private settlement within a day of the case being made public. A few months later, CNN released hotel security footage from 2016 showing Diddy assaulting Cassie. Diddy responded with a vague apology video, but his lawyers now claim CNN altered the footage and destroyed other evidence, seeking to have it excluded from the trial.
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on charges related to a federal indictment, including racketeering and sex trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody, awaiting his trial set for May 5th.
