Many people have been vocal about their opposition to President Donald Trump, especially given his controversial executive actions and behavior. However, one man took his frustrations far beyond acceptable limits.
Glenn DeCicco, a 73-year-old man from Florida, was arrested after posting disturbing threats on Facebook that quickly caught federal attention. These weren’t vague or passive-aggressive comments—his posts were clear, direct, and deeply concerning. In one post, he wrote, “Ass-ass-inate!” and in another, “Winning strategy: buy QQQ today, sell SQQQ today; sh**t Trump tomorrow.”
Federal agents took the posts seriously after a tip from someone who saw them and reported the alarming content. When officers arrived at DeCicco’s home, he reportedly told them it was “just a thought.” But that comment didn’t stop him from being arrested, booked, and charged with making written threats to kill or cause harm.
The incident comes in the wake of the 2024 assassination attempt on Trump at a campaign rally, where Thomas Matthew Crooks fired at the former president, grazing his ear. The Secret Service responded swiftly, fatally shooting Crooks before the situation escalated. That event has left authorities on high alert, making them even more sensitive to threats of any kind.
In DeCicco’s case, a judge denied bond and ordered that he have no contact with Trump, underlining how seriously the justice system is treating any form of threat—real or perceived.
There was a time when online rants were brushed off. Not anymore.
In today’s digital world, every post can be tracked, shared, and used as evidence. DeCicco’s case is a clear example that what you say online can land you in real-world legal trouble, especially when it involves threats against a former president. The message is simple: think before you post!
