The European Union will delay its initial countermeasures against U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs for 90 days, according to a statement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on X. “We acknowledge President Trump’s announcement and want to allow space for negotiations,” she stated. “Although the EU countermeasures, which received broad backing from member states, are ready for adoption, we will pause their implementation for 90 days.”
