A 17-year-old from Wisconsin allegedly killed his parents to secure the financial resources and independence needed for a plot to target President Donald Trump, according to a recently released FBI affidavit.
Nikita Casap is accused of murdering his mother, Tatiana, 35, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51, whose bodies were found on February 28 in their Waukesha home. Casap faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and theft. Authorities believe the victims were shot over two weeks before the bodies were discovered. The affidavit also mentions that Casap’s actions may have been part of a broader conspiracy involving the assassination of Trump, use of weapons of mass destruction, and other related crimes.
Casap was arrested after a stolen vehicle, belonging to Mayer, was traced to him. A traffic stop in Kansas led to the discovery of a gun, ammunition, and $14,000 in cash. A search of his phone revealed links to the extremist group “The Order of Nine Angels” and messages in Russian, as well as a three-page document discussing assassination and terrorist activities. Casap had reportedly confided in a classmate about his intentions to kill his parents and plot the assassination of Trump. The document found on his phone outlined his belief that killing Trump would lead to national chaos, and it included harmful, extremist views targeting Jewish people and the white race.
The affidavit concludes that Casap had a manifesto promoting violence and chaos, and that he had made plans to use a drone and explosives to carry out the attack. His parents’ deaths were seen as an effort to finance and enable his extremist agenda.
Casap remains in custody with a bond set at $1 million, and he will face further legal proceedings in May.
