Luigi Mangione was indicted Thursday by a New York grand jury on multiple federal charges, including stalking, a firearm violation, and murder using a firearm—charges that could make him eligible for the death penalty.
Mangione is being prosecuted at both the federal and state levels for the 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The Department of Justice recently confirmed it will pursue the death penalty in the case.
