President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that the ballistic missile responsible for a deadly attack on Kyiv, which claimed at least 12 lives, was produced in North Korea. The strike, one of the deadliest on Ukrainian cities since 2022, came just days after a similar assault in Sumy on Palm Sunday. Emergency crews worked through the night to rescue survivors from the rubble, with over 100 people injured in the blast.
Zelenskyy, citing early reports, said Russia launched a North Korean-made missile and confirmed that Ukraine’s security services are investigating the specifics. He condemned the incident as further evidence of the “criminal alliance” between Russia and North Korea, accusing both nations of jointly committing atrocities. According to Zelenskyy, Pyongyang is now able to test and enhance its weapons in real combat scenarios, thanks to its cooperation with Moscow.
He reported that Russia deployed over 200 offensive weapons—including missiles and drones—during the assault, emphasizing that no country should have to endure such aggression alone. On X, Zelenskyy urged the international community to apply “real pressure” on Russia, arguing that Moscow’s continued attacks show it has no fear of global consequences. He called for a united front among peace-valuing nations to confront and dismantle what he described as “alliances of murderers.” Stressing the need for justice and stronger air defenses, he thanked Ukraine’s international partners for their ongoing support and called for a just resolution to the war.
