Plans are underway for a grand military parade to celebrate Donald Trump’s 79th birthday on June 14, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
The parade, expected to cost around $100 million, will feature 7,000 troops, 50 helicopters, 150 military vehicles, and other equipment as it moves through Washington, D.C. starting from the Pentagon.
The event aims to showcase U.S. military might, with soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines marching, along with military displays such as tanks, aircraft, and missiles. While the exact cost is unclear, it is anticipated to reach tens of millions of dollars, factoring in transportation and safety measures for the public.
Trump has long expressed interest in such a spectacle, initially proposing it after attending a French military parade, although his earlier plans were canceled due to concerns over costs and public safety. Local officials, including Washington D.C.
Mayor Muriel Bowser, had previously raised objections to the high cost and potential road damage. This year’s parade is set to highlight the U.S. Army’s anniversary and mark a significant display of national pride.
Trump has also hinted at plans for a major celebration of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, promising a grand festival to celebrate the country’s history and achievements.
