Jennifer Lopez is recovering after sustaining a facial injury. The 55-year-old singer and actress shared updates on Instagram Tuesday, posting a photo with an ice pack over her eye, captioned, “So this happened…” She later posted a selfie without the ice, revealing a cut near the bridge of her nose and some bruising around her eye.
Lopez explained the injury occurred during rehearsals for the upcoming American Music Awards, which she’s scheduled to host on May 26.
In a third photo, Lopez posed with plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond, thanking him for treating her: “Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I’m good as new.” The exact cause of the accident is still unknown, and her representatives have not commented.
