Early Saturday morning, Donald Trump launched a fiery social media tirade targeting several prominent Democrats.
In a signature all-caps post on Truth Social, Trump directly called out Barack Obama and repeated his long-standing claim that the 2020 election was “rigged and stolen.” His comments appeared to be a reaction to newly released audio of President Joe Biden struggling to recall key personal details during an October 2023 interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.
Trump questioned who was authorizing legislation on Biden’s behalf, referencing the use of an “autopen” and implying a broader scandal surrounding the president’s mental fitness. He escalated his attacks by accusing Democrats of a coordinated cover-up, referring to a campaign of “inoculation and innocence,” and again condemned the House January 6th Committee, labeling them “political thugs.”
In his rant, Trump also reignited his criticism of former FBI Director James Comey, calling him a “dirty cop,” and reiterated his mocking nickname for Biden—“a hapless and cognitively impaired Sleepy Joe.” He maintained that he had won the 2020 election by “millions of votes.”
Trump’s outburst follows reports that Biden’s mental decline had long been known among close aides, with allegations of discussions about using a wheelchair and recent claims that Biden failed to recognize George Clooney at a campaign event.
