Singer Dawn Richard testified in court on Monday during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial that he threatened to kill her if she spoke out about witnessing him physically abuse his then-girlfriend, Cassie. Richard recounted seeing Combs attack Cassie with punches, kicks, and even a skillet at his home studio in 2009. She said he warned her and another witness that they “could go missing” if they told anyone—something she understood as a death threat.
Richard, who was then just beginning to work with Combs as part of their group Dirty Money, said she saw Combs abuse Cassie frequently, sometimes triggered by Cassie voicing opinions, other times without reason. Injuries were often covered up with makeup, sunglasses, and clothing.
