Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-crimes trial took a dramatic turn with testimony from rapper Kid Cudi, who alleged that Combs broke into his home and tampered with his dog.
Cudi, who briefly dated Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2011, also testified about a 2012 incident in which his car was set on fire—following Cassie’s earlier claims that Combs had threatened to blow it up.
Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, recalled a December 2011 phone call from a fearful Cassie, who warned him that Combs had found out about their relationship. Later that day, Combs’ former assistant allegedly informed Cudi that Combs was inside his house. Cudi said that upon arriving, he found opened gifts and his dog locked in the bathroom. He then confronted Combs over the phone, reported the incident to police, and received follow-up texts from Combs denying wrongdoing. Combs’ attorney argued that Cudi’s door had simply been left unlocked.
Cudi also testified that Cassie told him Combs was physically abusive during their relationship. He said he ended things with her due to escalating tension and concerns for their safety, stating, “I knew Sean Combs was violent.”
His testimony supports Cassie’s previous lawsuit, which accuses Combs of abuse and sexual misconduct.
Jurors were shown photos of Cudi’s destroyed Porsche, and he recounted a tense meeting with Combs after the explosion, saying he believed Combs was lying about having no knowledge of the incident. Cassie’s four-day testimony included claims of threats, assaults, and fears for her life, further reinforcing the allegations against Combs.
