Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the leaders of Britain, France, and Canada of supporting Hamas, labeling them “mass murderers, rapists, baby killers, and kidnappers” for backing the group over Israel.
In a televised speech addressing the killing of two Israeli embassy staff in Washington, Netanyahu condemned British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney for criticizing Israel’s military operations in Gaza and calling for humanitarian aid, saying their stance empowered Hamas. He said their calls for an immediate ceasefire and threats of sanctions essentially meant they wanted Hamas to stay in power. Netanyahu warned that by supporting Hamas, they were on the wrong side of justice, humanity, and history, and were emboldening the group to continue fighting indefinitely. This came after a joint statement by the three countries warning Israel to halt military actions or face consequences. Despite this, all three leaders condemned a recent attack on Israeli embassy staff, denounced anti-Semitism, and affirmed their support for Israel following the October 7 attacks.
