Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial has wrapped up its second week, with jurors hearing from several key witnesses, including his former assistant, the mother of his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, a makeup artist, and notably, rapper Kid Cudi.
Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified on May 22 about the short time he dated Ventura during a difficult period in her tumultuous relationship with Combs.
Other witnesses included a makeup artist who worked with both Combs and Ventura, and Combs’ former assistant George Kaplan, who returned for a second day on the stand after first testifying on Wednesday. Upcoming witnesses for next week include Capricorn Clark, another former assistant to Diddy, as well as officials from the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments.
Clark was mentioned during Mescudi’s testimony, where he described a 2011 incident in which Combs allegedly broke into his home. Mescudi recounted that Clark had warned him from outside the house, appearing “very scared” as Combs and an associate were inside.
The trial will resume after the long weekend, with Judge Arun Subramanian indicating it should conclude by July 4.
