The single follows days of social media teasing, including a clip of Carey cruising in a luxury car while playing a file titled “T:D_MC16.mp3.” Eagle-eyed fans also noticed the car’s license plate reading “MC16,” sparking speculation that a new album may be on the horizon.
Titled “Type Dangerous,” the track marks Carey’s first official single in years. Her last album, Caution (2018), was her 15th studio release and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
