Andrew Yang has extended an invitation to Elon Musk to help build a viable third political party, leveraging the momentum from Musk’s recent feud with Donald Trump and his poll asking if Americans want a new party. Yang, who’s been championing his centrist Forward Party, believes Musk’s influence, resources, and massive online following could accelerate efforts to disrupt the two-party system.
Although Musk hasn’t responded yet, Yang remains hopeful. He emphasized that while he and Musk don’t agree on everything, they share a frustration with political dysfunction and a desire for reform. Yang pointed out that the Forward Party already includes leaders from both sides of the political spectrum and prioritizes systemic change over ideological purity.
Yang said most Americans feel unrepresented and disillusioned with Democrats and Republicans alike. He envisions a practical path to success: recruiting thousands of local candidates, attracting retiring legislators open to change, and using Musk’s platform and funding to scale fast.
He concluded with a direct appeal to Musk, urging him to use his wealth and voice to help create the new political force Americans are demanding—one rooted in common sense, inclusion, and real solutions, not division.
