One day after Elon Musk claimed that President Donald Trump appears in the Epstein files, Jeffrey Epstein’s former attorney joined the discussion.
David Schoen wrote on X Friday, “I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal defense just nine days before he died. He had sought my advice for months before that. I can say with authority and certainty that he had no information that could harm President Trump. I specifically asked him!” Trump reposted a screenshot of Schoen’s statement on his Truth Social account.
Schoen’s remarks followed Musk’s accusation against Trump on X Thursday amid their public fallout over Trump’s big spending bill. Musk wrote, “Time to drop the really big bomb: (Donald Trump) is in the Epstein files. That’s the real reason they haven’t been made public. Have a nice day, DJT.” He added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
There is no proof that Trump engaged in any illegal activities with Epstein. In fact, Trump was named in the Department of Justice’s “The Epstein Files: Phase 1,” released earlier this year, appearing in the flight logs seven times. However, simply traveling on Epstein’s plane does not imply criminal wrongdoing.
