A man was fatally shot Friday evening in the parking lot of Northtown Mall in Blaine, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. near the Best Buy store. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say three males fled the area following the shooting; one has been taken into custody while the other two remain at large. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
This comes months after a separate gun-related incident last September, when a 21-year-old was charged for firing a weapon outside the mall, prompting panic inside.
