Whoopi Goldberg expressed skepticism about the recent feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, calling it “fake” and “strategic” during Monday’s episode of “The View.”
The show’s “Hot Topics” segment focused on the ongoing clash, which began last week over Trump’s large government spending bill and escalated when Musk accused Trump of being mentioned in the Epstein files.
Conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin sided with Trump, saying she believed he would come out on top, especially after Trump threatened to target Musk’s Pentagon contracts. Goldberg dismissed the feud, saying, “I love that y’all bought into it.” When Griffin insisted it wasn’t fake, Goldberg insisted it was a deliberate distraction meant to divert attention from more important issues, adding, “I’m not buying it because they lie.” She said she no longer trusts either of them, given their history of dishonesty.
The spat between Trump and Musk became a hot topic last week, even drawing jokes from late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel, who joked about the drama ending with one of them “in a cell with Diddy.”
