A Brazilian police officer, Clédio Vilela, was tragically found deceased on his farm in Pirenópolis, with his skeletal remains discovered next to a table outside his house.
Concerns arose when he missed church gatherings, prompting friends and family to report him missing to authorities.
Investigations revealed that Vilela likely passed away due to an illness and his body was subsequently consumed by his pet dogs, who had been unfed for about two weeks.
Authorities ruled out foul play after finding no signs of forced entry or theft at the property.
Vilela, a member of the Goiás Military Police, had been struggling with mental health issues following the death of his son in 2019 and lived in isolation on his remote farm.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
