Fifteen-year-old Ebube Offo, a student from Ezeagu local government area, reportedly took his own life by drinking sniper insecticide after being expelled from Malex International School in Enugu.
He had been expelled from his previous school, Evangel Secondary School, and his enrollment at Malex was opposed by the Evangel principal, who labeled him a bad influence.
This led to Offo’s expulsion from Malex without proper investigation, causing him depression and ultimately leading to his tragic death.
Family members noticed his unusual behavior before the incident but were unaware of the extent of his suffering.
