Nigerian celebrity barman and businessman, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest, has detailed his experience with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
An out-of-court settlement has been reached between Cubana Chief Priest and the EFCC regarding an alleged case of misusing naira currency.
This resolution was disclosed during a court session on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024.
Previously, on Wednesday, April 17, Cubana Chief Priest was granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos with a bond of N10 million and two sureties of the same amount.
He faced charges before Justice Kehinde Ogundare related to misuse of naira, spraying of currency, and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event, all contravening the Central Bank Act of 2007.
The accusations stemmed from an incident on February 13, 2024, where he was alleged to have sprayed naira notes during a party at Eko Hotel.
In a social media post featuring a video of himself, Cubana Chief Priest emphasized the importance of avoiding issues with the EFCC, expressing the difficulty of his experience.
He wrote:
“Court day!!! Problems are not good, and dealing with @officialefcc is no joke! It’s better to steer clear of their troubles. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to endure the stress I’m going through.”
