Rapper 50 Cent’s documentary on the sexual assault allegations involving his former friend-turned-rival Sean “Diddy” Combs has been acquired by Netflix after a fierce bidding war.
Multiple networks and streaming services had been vying for the series since 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, first hinted about it several months ago, according to sources.
50 Cent, who has openly expressed his animosity towards Diddy, confirmed the deal late Tuesday, May 21.
“NETFLIX wins the bidding war but if more victims keep coming out I’m gonna need more episodes,” he said in an Instagram post.
The series, produced by 50’s G-Unit Film and Television Studios, will reportedly delve into allegations of abuse involving Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and several other women.
Last year, 50 Cent announced that proceeds from the docuseries would benefit victims of sexual assault and rape.
Details such as the amount Netflix paid for the series and its streaming start date were not disclosed.
