Nigerian singer Blessing Jibromah has announced her plan to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, currently set at 105 hours by Indian singer Sunil Waghmare.
Jibromah aims to set a new record by singing for 144 hours.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, Jibromah expressed her desire not only to make music history but also to inspire aspiring singers and performers to dream big and push their limits.
“I am excited to declare my intention to break the GWR for the Longest Singing Marathon (Sing-A-Thon),” she said. “This event will be a spectacular display of endurance, talent, and community spirit. I am motivated not just by the challenge but by the potential positive impact it can have on Nigerians.”
Jibromah believes that successfully setting the new record will inspire many young Nigerians to pursue their dreams, regardless of how ambitious they might seem.
The marathon is scheduled from July 27 to August 2, starting at 9 a.m. daily at Unique Park Gardens, Sky Memorial, Zone 5, Abuja, and will be open to the public.
