The Kano court has postponed the dispute over the Emirate between Aminu Bayero and Lamido Sanusi until July 4th to address all pending applications and initial motions.
This comes after a session where the attorney general, the speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, and the assembly itself sought an interim injunction to prevent Bayero and four other dethroned emirs from presenting themselves as emirs.
The hearing on May 27th saw discussions on pending applications, with Bayero’s counsel opposing a 30-minute recess requested by the applicants for service of documents.
Consequently, Justice Amina Adamu adjourned proceedings to July 4th to hear all outstanding applications and motions.
