A judge ruled on Friday that Rudy Giuliani no longer qualifies for bankruptcy protection, allowing creditors to immediately pursue his assets.
Giuliani sought bankruptcy after being ordered to pay $148 million for defaming two Georgia election workers.
Judge Sean Lane ended the bankruptcy due to Giuliani’s lack of financial transparency over six months.
Creditors, including Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, are now poised to collect over $150 million owed. They plan to place liens on Giuliani’s New York City and Palm Beach properties, among other assets like luxury watches and sports memorabilia.
Giuliani intends to appeal the defamation verdict and contest creditors’ claims in state court.
