Exeter, a Delaware-based landlord, has filed a lawsuit seeking to evict MyPillow from its Shakopee location at 2101 Fourth Avenue East due to alleged non-payment of nearly $450,000 in rent.
The suit, filed on July 3, claims that MyPillow missed rent payments for June and July despite using a $100,000 security deposit to partially settle the debt.
Exeter states that MyPillow still owes $447,603.99, along with additional interest and attorney’s fees.
Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, stated to WCCO that the issue has been resolved, though there has been no corresponding court confirmation.
This follows a previous eviction from another Shakopee building earlier this year after MyPillow defaulted on rent payments multiple times.
These financial challenges add to Lindell’s existing legal and financial issues, including a billion-dollar defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems, a $5 million judgment to a software engineer over election claims, unpaid legal expenses, and reduced advertising revenue from Fox News.
Last year, Lindell sold off industrial equipment and began subleasing manufacturing space in Minnesota as part of a shift to a direct-to-consumer strategy.
A virtual hearing regarding Exeter’s lawsuit is scheduled for July 23.
