The Nigerian government and the United Arab Emirates have reached an agreement allowing Nigerian passport holders to apply for visas to travel to the UAE.
This decision follows a two-year suspension of visa issuance amid diplomatic tensions. Starting July 15, Nigerian nationals can begin applying for visas, coinciding with Emirates Airlines’ plans to resume daily flights between Lagos and Dubai from October 1, 2024.
The travel ban, which has affected Nigerian tourists due to unresolved issues under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement, is expected to be lifted soon, according to Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
