President Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee for the November 5 presidential election, has accused Elon Musk, the billionaire behind SpaceX and Tesla, of trying to secure an electoral victory for Donald Trump.
This accusation follows Musk’s reported commitment to donate around $45 million monthly to a new fund supporting Trump’s campaign.
Biden, expressing his frustration on X (formerly Twitter), criticized Musk and other wealthy individuals for allegedly trying to “buy” the election. He urged Americans to contribute to his campaign to counter Trump’s efforts.
The criticism comes as political tensions rise with the election nearing.
Additionally, the White House announced that Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, adding to the pressure on the 81-year-old Democrat, who faces internal party calls to reconsider his re-election bid.
Musk’s endorsement of Trump, especially after an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, has intensified controversy, further complicating the already charged election season.
The election, which pits Trump against incumbent Biden, represents a major rematch with heightened stakes and scrutiny on campaign finance and electoral integrity.
