Former U.S. President Donald Trump held his first campaign rally since surviving an assassination attempt last week.
In a two-hour speech in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he criticized Democrats and repeated false claims about immigration and election fraud.
The rally, held on Saturday, had heightened security, and Trump reverted to his typical campaign style of insults and offensive language. He mocked President Joe Biden, calling him “stupid president” and compared Nancy Pelosi to a “dog.”
The crowd, which had gathered in large numbers, laughed and cheered as Trump urged them to “fight, fight, fight,” referencing his response after the assassination attempt on July 13.
According to reports, Trump’s supporters in Michigan, a key battleground state, were enthusiastic and showed strong support, with many wearing T-shirts and hats featuring Trump’s image and the word “fight.”
