On Thursday in Kano, supporters of President Bola Tinubu’s administration held a counter-protest on Audu Bako Way and Farm Centre Road against the ongoing nationwide demonstrations criticizing the government’s handling of governance and economic issues in Nigeria.
The pro-Tinubu group contended that the current administration deserves more time to tackle national problems.
Abdullahi Muhammad Saleh, a participant, praised President Tinubu’s initiatives, especially the North West Development Commission, which he believes will benefit the region.
Saleh advocated for dialogue rather than protests, urging for unity and peaceful solutions. He stressed that their support for the government stems from its ongoing efforts and that they oppose violence in protests.
This demonstration supports the ruling party’s recent call to rally backing for President Tinubu and showcase his accomplishments. At a press conference in Abuja, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, the Cross River State chairman and Secretary of the APC States Chairmen Forum, urged resistance against disorganized protests that might threaten national peace. He encouraged citizens to cooperate with security agencies and report any acts of violence.
