On Thursday, Lagos was brought to a standstill as residents took to the streets to protest against poor governance and the country’s economic struggles.
Holding placards, demonstrators filled the city, causing shops to close, streets to clear, and vehicles to stay off the roads.
The city’s usual hustle and bustle was replaced by a ghost town atmosphere, with only a few cars daring to navigate the empty streets while police patrols and sirens filled the silence.
Despite last-minute attempts by the Nigerian government to curb the protests, people across major cities in the country remained resolute in their demands for change.
