On Wednesday, Taylor Swift addressed the foiled terror attack that led to the cancellation of three of her Eras Tour shows in Vienna earlier this month.
She expressed fear and guilt over the cancellations but was thankful to the authorities for preventing any loss of life.
Swift praised the fans for their support and unity and emphasized her commitment to ensuring the safety of her London shows by working closely with stadium and British officials.
Swift’s comments followed the August 7 announcement by Austrian authorities that they had thwarted a terror plot targeting at least one Vienna show.
This is her first public response to the incident. She explained that she chose to remain silent to avoid drawing attention to potential threats.
Swift’s next tour stop is scheduled for Miami in October.
Three teenagers have been detained in connection with the plot. Authorities discovered explosives, chemicals, detonators, and counterfeit cash at the home of the main suspect, a 19-year-old ISIS sympathizer who planned a suicide attack.
