She isn’t endorsing a political candidate, but instead, the pop superstar took to her Instagram Story to urge fans to watch the Zoë Kravitz-directed movie “Blink Twice” (now in theaters) and to check out Sabrina Carpenter’s new album “Short ‘n Sweet.”
“This film is incredible. Thrilling, twisted, wickedly funny, and visually stunning. The performances are phenomenal,” Swift shared, highlighting that her friend Kravitz “conceptualized this, wrote it, obsessed over every detail, and directed it with such a clear and bold vision.”
Regarding Carpenter, who opened for her on tour, Swift added, “Short. Sweet. Has made an extraordinary album,” with checkmarks. Back in July, Swift dubbed it the “Summer of Sabrina (Carpenter)” after Carpenter posted on Instagram celebrating her breakout year and career achievements.
“And just like that, you guys sold out the entire short n’ sweet tour, espresso went #1 at pop radio andddddd I slid down this slide :’) thank you all so so much!!! I can’t wait to see you on the road,” Carpenter captioned her post.
Swift responded with, “SUMMER OF SABRINA AND MAY IT CONTINUE FOREVER,” along with an angel emoji. Carpenter had also opened for Swift on the international leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, with her song “Please” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this summer, marking her first time at the top of the chart.
“Blink Twice” is Kravitz’s directorial debut. Known for her roles in “The Batman” and HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” Kravitz, 35, brings to life a psychological thriller that follows a server named Frida (played by Naomi Ackie) who is swept off her feet by disgraced billionaire Slater King (played by Channing Tatum) and taken to a private island for a getaway filled with friends and debauchery.
However, things take a dark turn as the women in the group start blacking out and waking up with mysterious injuries, with some disappearing altogether. Frida becomes determined to uncover the truth behind these unsettling events.
Earlier this summer, Swift also endorsed her friends Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, who star in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” In late July, she shared a photo of herself with Jackman, Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Shawn Levy, accompanied by a detailed note expressing her admiration for the film and her friends’ dedication to the project. The group had attended the Chiefs vs. Jets game in October, marking Swift’s second public show of support for her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
