Legendary singer Freddie Jackson has shared an update on his health via social media, revealing he has been diagnosed with kidney disease.
In an Instagram video, Jackson spoke openly about his condition, stating, “Hey everyone! Freddie Jackson here with a very personal and important announcement. I have been diagnosed with kidney disease.”
The 67-year-old artist expressed gratitude for the support of his close friends, manager, music family, and fans, and announced a collaboration with the National Kidney Foundation to raise awareness about the disease. He emphasized that, despite the challenges, he is determined to face this issue with resilience and positivity.
The news follows concerns raised after Jackson’s performance at the St. Kitts Music Festival in July 2024, where fans noticed his slimmer appearance and struggled performance.
According to the CDC, over 1 in 7 U.S. adults have chronic kidney disease, though about 90% of those affected may not be aware of it.
