The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has clarified that the 20 politicians who tested positive for drugs are not all from the same political party.
This statement follows media reports suggesting that 20 aspirants from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the local government elections tested positive for drugs.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari, while 20 candidates did test positive, the results did not link them to any specific political party or position.
The NDLEA clarified that the tests were conducted individually, without any connection to the candidates’ political roles or affiliations, and urged the public to wait for the official results once the screening process is completed.
