Singer Paul Okoye, formerly of the group PSquare, has confirmed that the duo will not be reuniting. In a recent Instagram live session, Paul criticized his twin brother, Peter Okoye, and made it clear that their musical collaboration is over.
Paul expressed his dissatisfaction with their past dynamic, stating he felt he did all the work while Peter reaped the benefits. He used the phrase, “Monkey dey work, Baboon dey chop,” to describe his feelings about their unequal contribution and affirmed that he will focus on his solo career from now on.
Many fans who hoped for a reunion were shocked by Paul’s comments. He emphasized that he prefers working alone rather than continuing an imbalanced partnership.
Paul had previously discussed their fallout, mentioning that Peter had allegedly had him and their older brother, Jude Okoye, arrested in December 2023. Paul was later cleared of any wrongdoing.
In response, Peter denied the arrest allegations, clarifying that his petition was against Jude for allegedly diverting funds into a secret account. Peter expressed disappointment that Paul sided with Jude rather than working together to regain their prominence in the music industry. He also accused Paul of disrespecting him, his family, and his ideas, which contributed to their estrangement.
