Britney Spears left fans confused after claiming she “married” herself while dressed in a wedding gown, a year after her split from Sam Asghari.
The 42-year-old pop star shared an Instagram video on Sunday, wearing a white silk wedding dress and veil.
Instead of a traditional wedding announcement, Spears said she had married herself, calling it “the most brilliant thing” she’s ever done.
In the video, Spears posed in the bridal attire, with her hair styled in loose waves, black pointed heels, a gold necklace, and her signature black eyeliner. The video was set to Sting’s “Fields of Gold.” She also shared a picture of an empty church with no caption and later posted a clip of herself by a pool in a yellow bikini and another in a white slip dress and black boots at a private jet, hinting at a solo honeymoon in Turks and Caicos.
Spears’ divorce from Asghari was finalized in May after 14 months of marriage.
Asghari has since been seen with a new woman in Los Angeles, sparking dating rumors.
Spears and Asghari married in June 2022 after suffering a miscarriage and had planned to expand their family. Spears, in her memoir “The Woman In Me,” praised Asghari for his stability and sobriety.
She has since been linked to Paul Soliz, a maintenance worker she met while he was working at her home.
