Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife Asma, previously seen planting trees in Draykish near Tartous on December 30, 2020, are now reported to have arrived in Russia with their family.
According to Russian news agencies, citing a Kremlin source, Assad and his family have been granted asylum in Moscow on humanitarian grounds.
Interfax quoted the source stating, “President Assad of Syria has arrived in Moscow. Russia has granted them asylum on humanitarian grounds.”
