Matt Gaetz, the former GOP congressman who withdrew as President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for U.S. attorney general, has landed a new role at One America News (OAN). Starting in January, Gaetz will host “The Matt Gaetz Show,” airing weeknights at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
In a statement, Gaetz expressed excitement about joining OAN, citing the network’s innovative approach to media, which includes streaming, apps, podcasts, and social media. Gaetz, who served as the U.S. representative for Florida’s 1st district from 2017 until his 2024 resignation, withdrew from the AG nomination in November after reports surfaced about federal investigations into his alleged involvement in drug-fueled sex parties. He has denied the allegations.
In addition to his primetime show, Gaetz will co-host a weekly podcast with Dan Ball, host of OAN’s “Real America With Dan Ball.” The podcast is aimed at engaging Millennials, late Gen Z, and early Gen X viewers.
OAN, known for its extreme pro-Trump stance and support for conspiracy theories, has been criticized for promoting baseless claims and working with Russian operatives on a documentary during Trump’s first impeachment.
