Puerto Rico’s governor has urged President-elect Donald Trump to take action after Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro called for an invasion of the U.S. territory.
Maduro’s remarks represent “an open threat to the United States and our national security,” Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González-Colón stated in a post on X on Monday.
“I have sent a letter to President @realDonaldTrump, trusting that his administration will promptly respond and send a clear message to the Maduro narco-regime that the U.S. will defend American lives and sovereignty, refusing to yield to violent, criminal thugs.”
