Kanye West has sparked controversy again, this time by giving disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs a platform to speak while also involving his 11-year-old daughter, North West, in a song. The track, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, features a voice note from Diddy expressing gratitude to Kanye for reaching out since his imprisonment.
Kanye, who had reportedly not seen his children for weeks, used a rare meeting with North to record vocals for a song originally intended for his Sunday Service but instead attached them to his collaboration with Diddy.
North’s contribution, singing the lyrics “When you see me shining, then you see the light,” alarmed Kim Kardashian, who attempted to block the song’s release through legal channels, citing concerns for her daughter’s involvement with Diddy, who faces serious allegations. Despite initially agreeing not to release it, Kanye posted the track exclusively on X, prompting further backlash.
Kim and Kanye’s dispute also reignited tensions over their children’s trademarks, with Kanye demanding shared control. When Kim hesitated, Kanye declared “war” on her.
His increasingly erratic behavior, from inflammatory social media posts to his unsettling dynamic with Bianca Censori, has left even longtime fans concerned. While many of his peers have ignored his recent actions, Kim’s efforts to shield North from the controversy have been widely supported.
Kanye’s journey from an outspoken critic of injustice to someone aligning with figures like Diddy and promoting extreme views has led many to question whether anyone can hold him accountable. For Kim, that accountability begins with protecting their children from his chaos.
