DHL Express announced it will suspend global shipments to U.S. consumers valued over $800, including from Hong Kong, due to changes in U.S. customs regulations.
The company, headquartered in Germany, stated that the suspension will take effect on Monday as a temporary measure in response to new U.S. customs rules requiring formal entry processing for shipments exceeding $800. Prior to this, the threshold was $2,500, with the update announced on April 5. While business-to-business shipments will continue, they may experience delays. Shipments under $800, whether to businesses or consumers, are unaffected by the changes.
DHL also mentioned it would continue processing shipments from Hong Kong in line with new customs rules set to take effect on May 2.
The suspension is part of broader shipping service adjustments due to ongoing trade tensions, especially between the U.S. and China.
