Over eight months after the initial report of Jonathan Majors facing charges, the Creed III actor has officially started trial for assault, attempted assault, and aggravated harassment towards his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
The trial, initiated on November 29, is anticipated to last two weeks, with two significant rulings by Judge Michael Gaffey impacting the case.
Firstly, the jury will be informed about Grace Jabbari’s arrest in October 2023, even though charges were later dropped.
Gaffey deemed this information relevant to assess Jabbari’s assault claims.
Additionally, a seal on certain evidence related to prior incidents involving Majors has been enforced, with Gaffey considering it prejudicial and inflammatory to the ongoing proceedings.
This ruling may influence Majors more favorably, as it could have potentially supported Jabbari’s stance on the assault case.
Notably, Jabbari, who briefly faced charges herself, is allowed to testify during the trial. Allegations include a shift from a “kind and loving” relationship on the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to an abusive situation.
Majors’ countersuit claims Jabbari initiated the altercation.
Majors has faced professional consequences since the assault claims surfaced, being dropped from projects like Magazine Dreams, with rumors of Marvel distancing itself from the actor and the Kang storyline.
