An eighth-grade female student in Bryansk, Russia, tragically opened fire at her school, fatally shooting a fellow pupil and injuring several others before taking her own life, according to officials.
The incident involved the use of a pump-action shotgun.
Eyewitnesses reported that the student wounded four boys during a biology class before committing suicide on the school’s fourth floor.
The motives for the shooting are under investigation.
Authorities have evacuated students, and a security check is underway to ensure safe conditions.
This incident follows a similar school shooting in Izhevsk in September 2022, which resulted in 13 fatalities.
