In an undated photo released by Manchester police on December 14, 2023, British schoolboy Alex Batty, missing since 2017 and believed abducted by his mother, was recently found in France.
British and French officials announced Friday that the teen, now located, is expected to return to Britain in the coming days.
Alex, who traveled to Spain with his mother and grandfather in 2017, was found in southern France, living a nomadic lifestyle in spiritual communities.
He never faced physical abuse but lacked formal education during the six years of travel with his mother and now-deceased grandfather.
The reunion with his legal guardian, maternal grandmother Susan Caruana, is anticipated upon his return to Britain
