According to reports from This Day Newspaper, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially endorsed the appointment of Bashir Adewale Adeniyi as the Controller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service.
This confirmation was conveyed through a statement issued by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
Adeniyi’s tenure commenced on October 19, 2023, in line with the Public Service Rules (PSR).
President Tinubu has also encouraged Adeniyi to apply his extensive experience to his new role.
Adeniyi had assumed the position of Acting Controller General in June 2023.
