Lionel Messi to Receive 2023 Ballon d’Or from Former Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba.
In an announcement by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Friday morning, it was revealed that former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will be the one to present Lionel Messi with the prestigious 2023 Ballon d’Or award on Monday.
Drogba has already arrived in Paris, where the award ceremony is set to take place. Romano shared a video of Drogba’s arrival along with the caption, “Didier Drogba will give Lionel Messi his Ballon d’Or number 8. It will happen on Monday in Paris.”
Lionel Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami in the MLS, is set to make history as the first footballer outside of Europe to claim this coveted award. This achievement will mark Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or win, extending his record at the age of 36.
