Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak is poised to break the world record, having cooked continuously for over 227 hours.
Draped in her country’s flag, she concluded the marathon with an emotional salute to the crowd in Tamale.
Describing it as a “national assignment,” she expressed dedication to Ghana.
The event drew cheers as she exited the hotel kitchen.
Her team plans to submit evidence to Guinness World Records for official verification.
The current record-holder, Irishman Alan Fisher, cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
Abdul Razak aims to make breaking her record a formidable challenge for future contenders, receiving support from politicians, celebrities, and the Ghanaian military.
Last year, Hilda Bacci created a buzz in Nigeria by breaking a similar record.
